About the Role

We are looking for an Agricultural Data Analyst to analyze agricultural, market, and commodity data and turn it into reliable insights for Farmioc's products and business decisions.

You will work with historical and current data across commodities, markets, regions, and seasons, while collaborating with product, engineering, and data teams to improve analysis, forecasting, and data-driven features.

What You'll Do

• Analyze historical and current price, arrival, and crop data across commodities, markets, districts, states, and seasons to generate actionable insights.

• Clean, validate, and prepare data from multiple sources, checking accuracy, consistency, completeness, units, and dates.

• Identify trends, anomalies, and data-quality issues, and work with engineering and data teams to address them at the pipeline level.

• Build and evaluate price forecasting and trend models using statistical methods.

• Build reports, dashboards, and data summaries for internal teams and products such as PriceHub, DataStore, MarketHub, and AgriTools.

• Automate recurring analysis and validation using SQL and Python.

• Document data sources, definitions, assumptions, and analytical methods.

• Communicate findings clearly to product, engineering, and business teams.

What You Will Have

• 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, agricultural analytics, commodity research, or a related field.

• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.

• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and manipulation.

• Experience with Pandas, NumPy, and data visualization libraries.

• Solid understanding of descriptive statistics, time-series analysis, and forecasting methods.

• Strong understanding of data cleaning, transformation, and analytical workflows.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Clear communication of findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and strong collaboration skills.

• Comfortable working independently and collaborating asynchronously across a distributed team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Indian agricultural markets, including mandi prices and arrivals, crop varieties, kharif/rabi seasons, and sources such as Agmarknet or data.gov.in.

• Experience with PostgreSQL.

• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar BI tools.

• Experience working with APIs and structured or unstructured data sources.

• Experience supporting data-driven or AI-powered products.
