Forward Deployed Engineer – Agri Inputs

Company: Farmioc
Location: Hyderabad, Telangana, India
Work Model: On-site
Employment Type: Full-time
Experience: 3–5 Years

About Farmioc

Farmioc is an Agri Intelligence & Commodity Trading Ecosystem focused on helping businesses across the agriculture and food value chain make better, data-driven decisions.

Its products include DataStore, PriceHub, MarketHub, AgriTools, and AGVISOR, covering agricultural data, commodity intelligence, market information, analytics, trading, and decision-support workflows.

About the Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work directly with seed companies, fertilizer manufacturers and distributors, and crop-protection companies.

You will understand customer workflows and data, build practical solutions using Farmioc's agricultural, commodity, and market intelligence, and take those solutions from problem discovery through implementation and production.

What You'll Do

Customer & Solution Discovery

  • Work with sales, supply-chain, agronomy, and technology stakeholders to understand customer workflows, data, and technical requirements.

  • Translate business problems into concrete solutions such as regional demand forecasting, seasonal inventory planning, fertilizer price monitoring, competitive product analysis, and territory prioritization.

Engineering & Data

  • Build customer-facing solutions using Python, SQL, databases, REST services, and data-processing workflows.

  • Integrate customer data with Farmioc datasets covering crop area, yield and production forecasts; weather and soil data; fertilizer, nutrient, and raw-material prices; and active ingredients, target pests, and seed traits.

  • Map customer products, input categories, crops, territories, dealers, and sales regions to relevant Farmioc crop, input, production, and market data.

  • Develop data pipelines, analytical workflows, dashboards, scripts, and application components using relevant Farmioc capabilities, including AgriTools such as the Fertilizer Advisor, Crop Management Assistant, and Crop Selection Guide.

  • Prototype, validate, and take successful solutions into production.

Analytics & AI

  • Develop regional demand and pest-pressure signals using crop area, weather, soil, customer sales data, and AgriTools pest and disease warnings.

  • Apply LLMs, RAG, or AI agents where they provide clear business value, such as field-sales assistants that summarize crop and pest conditions by territory.

  • Validate data, analytical results, and AI outputs before they are used in customer workflows.

Deployment & Support

  • Work with customer technology and security teams to test, deploy, and validate solutions.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve application, data, database, integration, and performance issues.

  • Document integrations, workflows, technical decisions, and operational requirements.

Product & Engineering Collaboration

  • Identify recurring customer requirements that can become reusable Farmioc product capabilities.

  • Evaluate whether requirements should be addressed through existing Farmioc capabilities, customer-specific solutions, or product enhancements.

  • Share customer feedback and implementation learnings with product and engineering teams.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5 years of experience in software engineering, solutions engineering, implementation engineering, data engineering, AI engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong Python and SQL skills with experience working with databases and data-processing workflows.

  • Experience building and deploying production applications, data solutions, or analytical systems.

  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions and work directly with stakeholders.

  • Solid debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Comfortable working with ambiguous requirements, changing priorities, and customer-driven problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with seed companies, fertilizer manufacturers or distributors, or crop-protection companies.

  • Understanding of kharif and rabi seasons, fertilizer subsidies such as NBS, Soil Health Cards, or agricultural dealer and retailer networks.

  • Experience working with agricultural, crop, input, weather, sales, distribution, or market datasets.

  • Familiarity with enterprise data platforms, ERP or CRM systems, batch/file-based integrations, APIs, data governance, or customer security requirements.

  • Experience with PostgreSQL or MongoDB, dashboards, LLMs/RAG, AI agents, Docker, cloud, or CI/CD.

Example Customer Problems

  • Combine a seed company's district-level dealer sales with Farmioc crop-area forecasts and rainfall to plan inventory before the kharif and rabi sowing seasons.

  • Track fertilizer, nutrient, and raw-material price movements to support a fertilizer company's pricing and procurement.

  • Use crop-area data and AgriTools pest and disease warnings to position crop-protection stock by district ahead of the season.

Why Join Farmioc

  • Work at the intersection of agriculture, crop intelligence, commodities, data, and AI.

  • Work closely with customers and engineering teams to solve real-world demand-planning and market problems and take solutions into production.

  • Gain ownership of customer implementations and help shape how Farmioc products are used across agricultural-input workflows.

  • Build on Farmioc's growing agricultural and commodity intelligence platform and turn high-value customer problems into scalable capabilities.
